  During a bullfight, a drunk suddenly wandered into the middle of the ring.
The crowd began to shout, but the drunk was unaware of the danger. 1)crowd,人群。crowd也可以用作表量的名词,如:a crowd of people。 2)be unaware of,没有意识到。unaware源自aware(意识到的)。 3)danger,危险。其形容词为dangerous(危险的)。
The bull was busy with the matador at the time, but it suddenly caught sight of the drunk who was shouting rude remarks and waving a red cap. 1)be busy with sb.,忙着应对某人。 2)matador,斗牛士。 3)catch sight of,突然看到。 5)注意cap(无边的鸭舌帽)与hat(有边的礼帽)的区别。
Apparently sensitive to criticism, the bull forgot all about the matador and charged at the drunk. 2)be sensitive to,对... 3)criticism,批评。其动词为criticize(批判),形容词为critical(挑剔的)。 4)forget all about,彻底忘了。 5)charge at,朝...
The crowd suddenly grew quiet. The drunk, however, seemed quite sure of himself. 2)be sure of oneself,对自己很有把握。
When the bull got close to him he clumsily stepped aside to let it pass. 1)get close to,靠近。
The crowd broke into cheers and the drunk bowed.
By this time, however, three men had come into the ring and they quickly dragged the drunk to safety. 1)by this time,到这时为止。 源自形容词safe(安全的)。
Even the bull seemed to feel sorry for him, for it looked on sympathetically until the drunk was out of the way before once more turning its attention to the matador. 1)seem to do,似乎、好像。 源自名词sympathy(同情),其形容词为sympathetic(同情的)。 4)be out of the way,不碍事、不挡路。 5)turn one"s attention to,转移注意力到...。
